Dashboard.earth works with trusted local partners to crowdsource climate actions that are restorative for the people and places they serve.

DASHBOARD.EARTH

Our Impact

  • Architected, designed, and prototyped key features for a strategic pilot which helps to secure the next round of funding

  • Collaborated with founder and product manager to bring personalization and moments of delight to the application experience

Dashboard.earth team came to us with a challenge to make it easy for users to take easy climate actions in the context of their partner programs (example: teaching citizens how to plant and care for a tree as part of the Tree People Tree Planting initiative)

Information architecture & User flow mapping

We started with a hypothesis: Users will be more likely to take climate actions (in this case: to plant a tree), if they can get social validation from their friends, neighbors, and other users. They will also be more likely to take this action if they have a personal connection to the tree itself.

From this hypothesis and in working closely with the founding/product team, we map out a potential user path from the moment a user received a young tree, to the moment of planting, naming, caring, and getting social validation for this beautiful act.

A digital presentation outlining tree care actions and mobile app features for tree maintenance and gardening, including app screenshots of maps, plant lists, and gardening tools.

Competitive analysis

Learning from both direct and indirect competitors, specifically tied to user stories and requirements.

Two smartphone screens displaying a gardening app about a plant named Babe, a Magnolia tree. The first screen shows a profile with a photo, description, and checklists for planting tasks. The second screen displays Babe's profile, species, description, and a button to plant Babe now.
Two smartphones displaying nature-focused app interfaces. The left phone shows a profile page with user information, actions, and saved items. The right phone displays a page about watering a tree named Babe, with a picture of the tree and a water now button.

Design & Prototype

Four variations of a board game logo with different background colors and color schemes. Each logo features the words "dashboard earth" with design elements including a small circle.

We explored logo options and designed screens following the intended user flow and architecture. Example of collaboration: During the ideation and iteration process, we introduced ideas to personalize the object (naming the tree Babe in the example below), therefore developing a relationship between the user and the care object.
