About this Event
Components within Figma are the building blocks of any functional and fluid design system. The ability to create them with longevity in mind can mean the difference between simple tweaks and massive design debt down the line. But how do you get started in creating components properly? And how should you think about their future use and variations when building them? We'll address these questions and more in this workshop, starting with the mindset necessary for building components and moving into a hands-on tutorial, building an example component from scratch.
What you'll learn:
How to break components down into parts
Constraints and making reactive components
What Variants are, how and when to use them
Hands-on experience of building components for use in your projects

About the speaker
Marc Burnett is a product designer based in Brooklyn, NY. His love for user centered design spurred him to leave the world of graphic design and study at the Flatiron School in 2019, learning UX design principles before joining TAILORU Collective and working with clients in the impact, non-profit, fitness and interior design spaces. When Marc isn't designing, wireframing or ideating, he's likely painting, baking, gaming or giving his cat love the love and attention he deserves.
