Creative Studio and Brand Asset Management is a feature for organizations to create content assets, manage, and support their fundraising campaigns.

About

Process

We were engaged with researching and designing a way for organizations to brand their UncommonGood content and easily create professional design assets to use in marketing and fundraising.

Competitive Research - We performed Competitive Analysis on a variety of products that offered a way for people to easily organize files and to create branding and design assets.

Flow - The information architecture of this feature was well thought out to help the user seamlessly upload their branding, create new designs and manage all of these assets in a file organizer.

Sketch - Once a flow was in place, the next step was to sketch out effective layouts of the design before moving into wireframing.

Wireframe - Desktop mid-fidelity wireframes were built and iterated upon with stakeholders over the course of 4 weeks.

High-Fi - Wireframes were passed to a UI designer for polishing and these features are in development.

Usability Testing - Tests are currently in progress! User feedback will drive updates and changes to make the feature more successful.

Time: 6 weeks

Hypothesis: Organizations want to be able to customize their marketing materials with their branding, create professional design assets and manage all of this material in one place.

Brief: The client first wanted a way for organizations to apply their existing branding (logos, colors, fonts) to their UncommonGood fundraising efforts. The Brand Manager was the solution for organizations to upload, select and save this information to their account. This feature was later paired with the Creative Studio where people can easily create professional-looking marketing materials. In tandem, the Media Library was designed to help teams manage and organize all of these assets.

Deliverables: Desktop Mid-Fi Wireframes, Usability Testing results, and recommendations

The Creative Studio is best in class in helping organizations to create designs with the a click of a button.

Research

A competitive analysis was performed on a variety of design products such as Canva and Visme and popular media organization systems like Wix and Google Drive. Gauging their strengths and weaknesses in comparison to our goals helped influence our design decisions regarding effective flow, user engagement and success with task completion.

Flow

The information architecture of these features was complex and all needed to work together with the Media Library being the cornerstone. A flow was designed with all of this in mind.

Sketches

Visual designs start with sketching to work out layout and ideas before going into Figma. Since the Creative Studio and Media Library are large and robust features, an onboarding experience was designed to help the user get oriented.

Brand Manager

The initial feature, Brand Manager, is an administrative tool that allows for uploading logos and selecting brand colors and fonts to use in fundraising on UncommonGood. The ability to download the assets was important so organizations can use the assets in other applications.

Media Library

The Media Library is a robust file organization tool to help organizations manage all of their assets. It is integrated with the whole platform so media files can be easily added to sweepstakes, stories and fundraising campaigns. Organizations can upload assets directly, pull from existing and past campaigns, easily find and organize their content and create new designs by launching the Creative Studio directly.

Onboarding

The Media Library is a big tool with a lot of functionality. For first time user, we felt it would be helpful to offer an onboarding experience to teach them how to upload files, organize them, create new designs and how it works with other UncommonGood features. The onboarding can be skipped or re-launched as desired.

Usability Testing

Testing is vital to a projects success. This is currently in progress and we will update with those results soon!
